This page will be a place for you to see what we're working on during the week. I'll try to update it as soon as possible. ***Please continue to check their agendas for daily work. This page will be an overview of what we're learning as a class.
Math: Place Value-Numeration
Science: Life Science-Plants and Animals
Reading: Spelling Test (For those who need to take it)
***Because our "Winn Dixie" unit took us two weeks to get through, we only had one set of spelling words to learn and test on. If they got them all right last week, they didn't have to take it again. If they missed a few words, they have the opportunity to test again for a better score. Usually our reading stories and spelling words will change weekly. I'll try to keep you informed of these changes as they occur. Notes in the agenda are fine for you to communicate about these things and I'll try to answer those concerns as I see them. :)
Social Studies: Your student will start their first Social Studies unit on Monday, Sept. 9th. They will be going to Mrs. Steffen for Social Studies.
Computers: We will be getting our log-in and passwords handed out today and the students are very excited to log on and start using the computers in class. Technology is something I may not always understand, but will work to help students use it to benefit their studies.
Specials: Our specials schedule is as follows.

- Wednesday-PE/Music
- Thursday-PE/Music
- Friday-PE/Music
If you have any questions about specials, please let me know. Students will be allowed to check out two library books each week. They are to keep one at school and one can come home. I do this so they'll have something to read during our Daily 5 'read to self' time. Please remind your student to bring their library book back on Tuesday so they can check out a new book. For P.E., please make sure your child either wears or brings appropriate footwear for class.
